Witham Hospital Presentation and Tour Recap

 

Thanks to everyone who joined us as we learned about and toured the multi-story expansion of Witham’s North Pavilion, a project that addresses the ever-changing needs of the community, existing practice growth, and the need for additional specialists. The topics touched on during the tour were as follows:

  • Energy Management – Desigo CC System – Siemens

The tour presentation was conducted by Ricky Ray, Jack Hollingsworth, Ryan Soots and Toby Holcolmb.

Speaker Bios

Ray Beaufait
Mr. Beaufait joined CMTA in 2011, but has worked in the consulting engineering field since 1989. He left consulting for a few years gaining experience working for a mechanical design-build contractor. Mr. Beaufait’s experience is diverse and includes education, health care, office and medical imaging facilities. He is well versed in the design of HVAC systems, air distribution, hydronic and process piping systems, medical gas systems, fire protection and plumbing and is well versed in the codes related to each discipline. Other skills include computer modeling for load estimating and energy analysis. He has worked in over 20 states, and adapts easily to new design requirements. He also has integrated his many years of mechanical contracting experience with design to provide clients with cost effective solutions that include maintenance and operational friendly features. Mr. Beaufait has been involved with many health care clients, including Haven Behavioral, Acadia Behavioral, Norton Healthcare, IU Health, BJC Healthcare (St. Louis) and Community Health Systems. He has been project manager and engineer on hospital facilities throughout Kentucky, Indiana, and Pennsylvania including recent projects at Riverview Health and Witham Health Services.

Mark Edison, CEM
Mr. Edison has server from 2018 – present as a Senior Service Specialist for Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. Previous roles include 2005 – 2018 Service Operations Supervisor – Responsible for recruiting, developing, and supervision of service operations team members; 2003 – 2005 Performance Assurance Engineer – Responsible for the implementation of
M & V Guaranteed Energy Savings service contracts and Commissioning; 2000 – 2003 Service Account Engineer – Responsible for the implementation of service contracts and project management; and 1994 – 2000 Senior Service Specialist – Responsible for the timely maintenance, repair, and programming of building automation systems.

Jack E. Hollingsworth, NCARB, AIA
Mr. Hollingsworth is President of Array Architecture + Interiors. He has been a practicing professional architect for over 30 years. He has been involved from marketing to project inception to completion of construction, enabling him to practice “who you see is who you get” and be a proponent of evidence based design in healthcare that is user driven. Mr. Hollingsworth \has a Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Science Environmental Design, and a Bachelor of Arts. He has worked on several notable healthcare facility projects throughout the Midwest.

Toby Holcomb
Mr. Holcomb is a Certified Green Professional and Executive Vice President, Operations for Meyer Najem. With 35 years of experience, Toby leads the project team members with responsibilities to manage and coordinate the preconstruction and construction activities until the project is handed over to the Owner. Toby’s goal is to achieve 100% client satisfaction, uphold the highest safety standards and meet or exceed project schedule deadlines. He brings extensive experience in high profile healthcare facility projects.

Ryan Soots
Mr. Soots is a Project Manager with Meyer Najem. Ryan is responsible for simultaneously managing several projects including project set-up, contracts, scheduling, owner billings, cost control and overall project coordination with site superintendents, subcontractors and suppliers. He is also responsible for providing pricing/estimates on various changes to the projects.
