New and Revised Sprinkler Head Requirements
Effective immediately, The Joint Commission revised Standard LS.02.01.35, EP 7 to clarify the number of spare sprinkler heads required by critical access hospitals, hospitals, and behavioral health care and human service organizations. This clarification better aligns the EP with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) code. This requirement has also been added for inpatient hospice facilities, effective January 1, 2022, since these facilities are also health care occupancies as defined by NFPA.
