The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) recently issued a letter regarding the FGI Guidelines, NFPA 101 and NFPA 99.
The letter states that IDOH will continue to apply the 2018 FGI Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Hospitals, and the 2018 FGI Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Outpatient Facilities, or the most recent publication.
The 2022 FGI Guidelines have not yet been published. It is anticipated they will be published in April 2022, but we do not know how long it will be after publication until IDOH starts using the 2022 edition for plan reviews.
The IDOH letter also states that they will continue to use the 2012 editions of NFPA 101 and 99 to remain constant with CMS.
