Riley Children’s Health maternity tower will house the largest number of neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) beds in Indiana and among the largest in the country. Four floors of Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health were renovated to include a labor and delivery unit, a 45-bed Level 3 neonatal intensive care unit, and a postpartum unit. This hospital will become the first children’s hospital in Indiana to establish an integrated, all-in-one program offering obstetric, delivery, newborn, and comprehensive pediatric sub-specialty services—a new model of coordinated care that essentially treats mother and baby as one patient and surrounds them with medical support.

Jane Everett, RA, ACHA, BSA LifeStructures: As a project architect, Jane has a knack for transforming visions into spaces that respond to their setting and function. Jane also has prior experience outside the realm of architecture, which enables her to interact well with clients, user groups, and contractors. Her design philosophy starts with her belief that a successful design begins with listening to the client.
Brigitte Crim, LEED GA, BSA LifeStructures: As a design professional in electrical engineering, Brigitte is well versed in the language of complex systems and projects. With experience in some of BSA’s largest healing projects, Brigitte has ample experience juggling large design teams and intricate electrical systems. Being an electrical designer charged with designing facilities that impact and improve lives encourages Brigitte to work collaboratively with the client and the other professionals on the design team.
Adam Posorske, PE, BSA LifeStructures: Adam believes that healthcare design greatly impacts the lives of all those in a building. From patients and their families to clinician staff and facilities personnel. Every aspect of design is important because it affects everything from patient health to system maintainability. Adam enjoys working closely with facilities staff and user groups to coordinate the small details, proving it is key to making a big impact.

Jere Cox, LEED AP, IU Health: Jere Cox serves as a Director in Indiana University Health’s Design & Construction Department. IU Health is the largest healthcare provider in the State of Indiana. In his 6 years with IU Health, he has completed over $50 million of renovation projects, and is currently responsible for overseeing a $142 million renovation project at Riley Children’s Hospital. He is also active in Department initiatives around project delivery and process improvement. He has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue, a master’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Florida, and over 20 years’ experience in the design & construction industry. He is a LEED AP, a member of ASHE/ISHE, and currently serves Board Chair of the Indiana Construction Roundtable. Outside of work, Jere enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters (especially travelling), working out, and playing golf.
Krista Peak, BS, MBA, SSBB, IU Health: Krista Peak is a healthcare leader with 25 years of experience of clinical business operations within hospital networks and physician practices. She has specific expertise in strategic growth planning, clinical service line leadership, physician recruitment and outreach, practice management and managing large-scale construction projects. Krista has served as the Riley Children’s Health strategic project leader and owners representative for the Maternity and Newborn Health Tower. Adopting the IU Health standard work for design and construction projects, Krista has integrated all areas of building construction, environment of care, and team member readiness activities.
