A Comparison of LEED for Healthcare and the Green Guide for Healthcare Rating Systems – presented by Don Able, AIA, ACHA, LEED BD&C
Program consists of a comparison of the 2 major healthcare-related sustainable rating systems in the United States, LEED for Healthcare released in early 2011 and the Green Guide for Health Care its predecessor and pilot. Attendees should leave with a good understanding of the 2 programs and which should be considered best fitting their healthcare project or organization.

How the ASHRAE 90.1-2010 Energy Standard Will Affect Your Projects
– presented by Jeff Boldt, PE, LEED AP, HBDP
The ASHRAE 90.1-2010 Energy Standard for Buildings is the most significant revision to the ANSI/ASHRAE/IES energy standard since its inception. Buildings that comply with the 2010 edition will use approximately 25% less energy than the same buildings built to the 2004 standard. This seminar will teach you why 90.1-2010 is important to your projects, how it is enforced, what the major revisions are, when you are likely to feel its impact, why it conserves more energy than other energy codes, and how to comply without breaking the budget. 90.1-2010 includes significant revisions to the building envelope, mechanical, and lighting requirements that will affect architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners.
Jeff Boldt is a principal and Director of Engineering at KJWW Engineering. He is a member of the 90.1 committee and chairs 6 working groups in that committee. He is also an author of the Advanced Energy Design Guide (AEDG) for Small Healthcare Facilities and of the AEDG for Large Healthcare Facilities. Jeff was recently appointed to the committee responsible for ASHRAE 189.1 – Standard for the Design of High Performance, Green Buildings.
ISHE Receives Award at ASHE 49th Annual Conference
ISHE received the ASHE Gold Level of Affiliation at the ASHE show in San Antonio Texas on July 16-17, 2012.
