ASHE Elections for President-Elect and Selected Regional Directors Goes Live ISHE encourages all members of ASHE to vote for the 2011 ASHE board. All dues-paying professional active members, associate members, positional members, lifetime, and retired members are eligible to cast their vote for 2010 ASHE President-Elect and selected Regional Directors during the upcoming election. Read more about some of the nominees below. Jeffrey L. Arthurs CHFM, CHSP, FASHE I left a 10 year construction career to join healthcare at Mendota Community Hospital in 1980. Starting as a Maintenance Mechanic, I learned the electrical, plumbing, HVAC & refrigeration trades. During the following 13 years I worked as a Master Mechanic involved in all aspects of building maintenance and construction at MCH. In 1993, I was given the opportunity to advance into Facilities Management. My responsibilities included Maintenance and Bio Med. I began educating myself in the aspects of Healthcare Facilities Management via any and all avenues; including some college courses, various textbooks and ASHE. Having instituted successful changes and completed $1M in construction at MCH, I moved in 1998 to Illinois Valley Community Hospital, where I have been involved in departmental reorganizations, training and process improvement methods. As the Facility Construction Manager, I have completed in excess of $40M in construction. My current responsibilities include; Maintenance, Bio Medical, Security, and Construction Management. I was a Charter Board Member in the re-emergence of the Healthcare Engineer’s Society of Northern Illinois. I have served on the HESNI Board since 2003. I was the ASHE Region 5 Regional Leader in 2005. I served on the ASHE Board as the Region 5 Director 2006-2008. I have served on and chaired multiple ASHE Committees and Task Forces. I gave the presentation The 21st Century Healthcare Facilities Manager at the 2008 Midwest Conference. I received my CHFM in 2001, my CHSP in 2005, my SASHE in 2007 and my FASHE this year [2010].
