Prior to joining the ASHE Staff, Tim spent over 20 years working in and with hospitals in the areas of Facilities Management, Clinical Engineering and Life Safety. Tim is a Past President of the Indiana Society for Healthcare Engineering and the Indiana Biomedical Society (IBS). He is a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), a Certified Healthcare Constructor and an ASHE Fellow (FASHE). |

Mr. Erickson is currently the Deputy Executive Director the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). He is a Fellow of the Society (FASHE), a certified healthcare facility manager (CHFM), a certified healthcare facility design professional (HFDP) and a certified healthcare constructor (CHC).
He has been providing service to the health care community for over 35 years in the areas of Joint Commission Environment of Care compliance, NFPA Life Safety Code® compliance, management evaluations of engineering departments and environmental infection control. He is the past director of engineering for the Joint Commission (1977 – 1981) and past director of design and construction for the American Hospital Association (1985 – 1995). |
ISDH Position: Health Care Engineer
The Indiana State Department of Health is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Health Care Engineer to conduct plan reviews to determine compliance with applicable laws, rules, and standards in the construction and operation of health care facilities and other structures that require plan review and approval. Emphasis is on applying architectural and engineering standards, safety, sanitation, water supply, sewage disposal, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and state licensing requirements. The successful candidate may be called upon to assist with the investigation or resolution of public health or environmental problems.
